The researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cognitive Systems IKS think new software technologies one step ahead to adapt them to the requirements of an increasingly complex world.
As an independent partner of industry, we conduct application-oriented research into reliable software technologies for safety-critical applications in the fields of Industry 4.0, automotive and mobile machinery and commercial vehicles. 

Quantum computing is a promising candidate for solving industrial optimisation problems more efficiently in cooperation with classical computing. QuaST - Quantum-enabling Services and Tools for Industrial Applications - takes a holistic approach to developing software and tools that provide low-threshold access to quantum-based solutions.
