Customized GaAs diode lasers & UV LEDs – chips, modules & prototypes

Company profile

The Ferdinand-Braun-Institut (FBH) is an application-oriented research institute in the fields of high-frequency electronics, photonics and quantum physics. We research and realize electronic and optical components, modules and systems based on compound semiconductors. High-power diode lasers with excellent beam quality, UV LEDs and hybrid laser modules are developed from the infrared to the ultraviolet spectral range. Applications include medical technology, high-precision metrology and sensors as well as optical communications in space and integrated quantum technology. For pulsed lasers, which are needed e.g. for LiDAR, material processing and analytics, we develop the corresponding high-speed laser drivers.
