Pulse Laser Grinding for high-precision cutting tool regrinding
Pulse Laser Grinding is an advanced laser-based grinding technology. Unlike conventional mechanical grinding with abrasive wheels, it enables high-precision tool regrinding in significantly shorter processing time, reducing overall costs. Traditionally, laser processing was known for its speed but poor accuracy, requiring a combination of laser rough machining followed by mechanical finish grinding. However, with Pulse Laser Grinding technology developed by Nagoya Institute of Technology, ultra-precise laser grinding is now possible. This innovation allows the entire regrinding process — from roughing to finishing — to be completed with laser processing alone.
