LIMES is a cluster of EU projects on sustainable laser-based manufacturing.

LIMES is a cluster of Horizon Europe research projects working on different aspects of sustainable laser-based manufacturing. Six LIMES project partners are represented at World of Photonics: METAMORPHA, FLASH, WISE, OPTIMAL, OPeraTIC and GLOBALAM. The common topic linking the projects is to replace traditional manufacturing processes with more efficient laser-based methods to reduce waste, save energy and improve sustainability. This includes development of ultra-short pulse laser applications, dynamic beam shaping, lithography techniques, modular manufacturing strategies, additive manufacturing and machine learning for in-line process control.
