Set up in 2007, Cutting Edge Coatings (CEC) focuses on the production and development of the NAVIGATOR ion beam sputtering (IBS) coating system. IBS is known as the physical vapour deposition process to reach the highest thin-film quality. CECs´ NAVIGATOR coating systems are designed for manufacture of thin-film optical coatings for the most demanding applications in optics and laser technology.

Special features are a sputter-up configuration, a broadband optical monitoring system for fully automated process control and the ability to realize Rugate-filters by freely blending materials.
