New back-thinned 4k x 4k Si-CCD for highly stable + reliable interferometry and spectroscopy

The new CCD4850 comes with 15µm pixel size and a pixel resolution of 4080 x 4080 pixels.The fill factor is 100%. The back-thinning technology leads to quantum efficiencies of up to > 95% over a wide spectral range (300nm to 1000nm). The read out noise only amounts to ≤ 3 e- RMS at 100 kHz data rate. A deep depletion thickness of up to 100µm additionally implements a very good red response.

The CCD-package was optimized for highest stability and reliability, as required in high-end interferometry and high-resolution spectroscopy applications. By using high conductivity low thermal expansion AlSi alloy (CE6F) an excellent temperature uniformity and stability is implemented.

Various mounting options of the CCD housing enable a simple and highly stable and reliable integration of the CCD into the camera platform. The CCD housing is also buttable to build up larger CCD mosaics.
