The diameter and incident angle of the laser ring can be controlled by software along with other vital process parameters. This makes the SMARTSPLICER™ easy to configure and optimize for different fiber diameters and glass processing operations. These include fiber splicing of singlemode and multi-mode fibers as well as gradient index and photonic crystal fiber, fiber to end-cap splicing, tapering and the manufacturing of high power fiber laser components such as mode field adapters and pump combiners and ball lenses. Intelligent tool holders allows the machine to be customized for user specific applications.

The AUTOCLEAVER series is a comprehensive product platform with models for cleaving standard and large diameter optical fibers, based on our proven and patented tension and scribe cleaving process. Each model is optimized for precision cleaving of fibers with cladding diameters between 80 and 1000 µm. The small and portable cleavers with battery power are for both field and factory splicing applications. They accommodate fibers with cladding diameters between 125 and 400 µm. Fiber holder solutions are available for common field and factory splicers models. Open interface for integration into automated production systems.
NYFORS produces fast and advanced recoaters for different high and low index recoating applications using UV LED light source. All models are flexible with easy change of recoating material and fiber coating dimension. Silicone moulds are available for coating sizes between 80 and 900 µm with custom sizes available (also for coating sizes above 900 µm). Recoating lengths between 34 and 100 mm. Our AUTOCOATER series models are designed for high strength applications and are fully automatic, allowing for operator skill independent operation in factory environments with high productivity and cost advantages. Our smaller, manually operated series of recoaters are portable with a built in rechargeable battery providing versatile recoating capability for field, laboratory, and factory settings.
We offer a family of non-contact interferometers designed for inspecting the end-faces of cleaved or polished optical fibers with cladding diameters of 125 µm to 1200 µm. All models give immediate and highly accurate information on important end-face properties such as flatness, perpendicularity, hackles and dust. Sampling tests as well as continuous process documentation can be carried out both easily and quickly, making these an ideal instrument for cleaver inspection and optimisation. High-precision optics guarantees sharp and clear images and fringe patterns with very little aberration. Measurements are carried out automatically, with full operator independence. Models with 2D and 3D capability are available, including an HD version of the CLEAVEMETER 3D.
